Milan, the fashion metropolis

Milan is a fashion mecca for buyers from all over the world. The city is home to the oldest fashion institute in the world, the Politecnico di Milano, which has been training fashion professionals since 1895.

It is an area, delimited in the city centre, of luxury shopping in Milan, also known as the Quadrilatero d'Oro (Golden Quadrilateral) where all the best fashion houses are gathered. It is so called because it is bounded by four prestigious streets: via Montenapoleone, via Manzoni, via della Spiga and Corso Venezia. You can also explore the streets around the city centre for smaller boutiques with more local designers such as Filippa K or Made in Italy.

The city also has many shopping centres and shops that cater to different tastes and budgets. La Rinascente in Piazza Duomo is a landmark for quality shopping or Corso Buenos Aires offers many shops in the middle price range.
